A Village Built by Its People

Happy Friday everyone! I hope your week has been going well! ☀️


I was reflecting on when I first discovered The Modern Eco Village. It made me wonder about your journey. How did you find out about MEV? Was it through a friend, a Google search, or maybe a TikTok like it was for me and my partner Kaitlyn? For us, that first video sparked something so strong that we knew we had to take the next step. Even though we weren’t sure where it would lead, we felt we had to be part of it.


The Journey So Far


That first step was over a year ago. Since then, it’s been incredible to watch the project unfold and witness the community grow tremendously. Being at the office in person has shown me just how much goes into bringing this vision to life. From legal paperwork and contracts to architecture, operations, communications, marketing, and more, this community is not being built for us. It only exists because people are showing up to co-create it together. 🌿


Behind our two founders, there is a core team of seven, a broader team of 20, including architects, lawyers, and construction experts. More than 30 members are already actively shaping MEV through community circles. These circles meet regularly to review plans, make decisions, and take action together. That means one-third of our members are already participating. With members from 24 countries so far 🎊, the diversity of knowledge, skills, and perspectives is what makes The Modern Eco Village a place we all get to call home. 💛


The Importance of Community


Everyone says they want a deeper community. The truth is, it only happens when people are willing to step in. If this resonates with you and you feel drawn to being part of this community, here are three ways you can step in right now, and how it benefits you: 🤗


1. Become a Member (August Flight Offer ✈️)


Visiting the land in August? We’ll cover up to €1,000 of your flight ticket if you become a member or reserve your home while you’re here. We will do this by deducting it from your membership or reservation fee. Becoming a member means you:


  • Secure one of the 500 spots available in the MEV

  • Lock in current pricing

  • Join community circles and help shape the village from day one

  • Access opportunities for meaningful work and business inside the village

  • Get access to reserve your future home 🏡 among the dozens of amenities we offer, such as our cafes, restaurants, health and wellness centre, food forests, hotel, spa, and much more

2. Reserve a Home in Phase 1 (and get €10K in upgrades 🚪)


Phase 1 villas are open for reservation in areas MU2, MU3, and MU6 — including the founders’ own neighbourhood, “Lakeview.” 😍 Early neighbours who reserve now receive €10,000 toward upgrades like a pergola, pool, outdoor kitchen, or custom finishes.


How reserving your villa works:


  • A €30,000 deposit secures your villa

  • You get €10,000 credit toward upgrades

  • Nothing else is due until the purchase agreement is signed

  • We’ll work with you to design your home while construction begins


A quick note: Phase 1 is across areas MU 2, 3, and 6 on the masterplan, and consists of villas only. Townhouses will begin in Phase 2 onward, so if a villa with private land and stunning views is what you’re envisioning, this is the phase to jump in.

3. Invest in the Project (Help Us Build Faster ⏩)


If you’re in a position to invest, you can directly fuel the speed of the project. Support something truly meaningful and receive meaningful returns (10–30%). Why are we offering this to people? To be transparent, we prefer to offer these opportunities to our future neighbours instead of outside institutions. Your investment not only grows your wealth but also strengthens the village.

🗑️ Trash Pick-Up: Saturday, Sept 6th at 9 am


Our first round of clean-ups was a success! If you're nearby, join us for our second! We’ve received a positive response from residents of Planes so far, as we picked up trash around the lake—something that hadn’t been done in years. Together with the villagers, we'll be picking up more trash to continue building relationships and support for this project.


We’re committed to keeping the forests, lakes, mountain pools, and biodiversity around the community healthy and thriving. A true village is about bringing everyone together who feels connected to this place, so we can preserve and enjoy it together. We enjoy it so much that we plan to host a clean-up every month. 😄

🧺 September Gathering: Saturday, September 20th at 4 pm at the land


If you’ve been thinking about visiting, September is a perfect time! We are anticipating our biggest gathering yet, with around 70 people who have already RSVP’d. These gatherings are always open to everyone who wants to learn more about the MEV, meet future neighbours and friends, and have a good time while they're at it. 😄


Because we’re expecting a big group, we’d really appreciate it if you could RSVP ahead of time. This way, we can ensure there’s enough food and space for everyone, including activities for your children. :) You can let us know how many people will be joining you right here. More details to come!
