This Week at the MEV: Views, Visits, and a Gift for Future Residents (this is a juicy one!)

I want to share what we’ve been up to this week! For context: we get asked all the time about what there is to do around the village, so earlier this week we spent the day exploring some of the nearby spots and we filmed it all! 🎥 We visited the closest beach (which was so dreamy), a small local waterfall swimming area, the nearby villages of Beniarrés and Alcoy, went paddling on the lake, and did a few hikes around the hills. We also stopped by Phase 1, where the land has just been cleared, and the views are truly something else.. it was so breathtaking that Belinda and Alisa actually considered changing their plots to be in that area, that’s how beautiful it was! We filmed the entire day and really can’t wait to share it with y’all next week! 🥰

Upcoming Guided Tours 

We just released our guided tour dates from now through October 2025. These visits are the perfect way to come experience the land for yourself, walk through the plots, take in the views, ask all your questions, and get a real sense of what it could feel like to live here.

The upcoming tours for July are:

• Friday, July 25 at 9:30 am CET (only 1 spot left)

• Monday, July 28 at 6:00 pm CET (open availability)

What to expect: we will meet at the land in Planes here and guide you through it. You’ll get to see the freshly cleared areas and start imagining where your very own home could be. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, a hat or shades, and long pants to cover your legs.

If those dates don’t work for you or if you’d prefer a more personal visit, we also offer private tours for a small fee. Just message us and we’ll help set it up. 😊

September Picnic and Potluck Gathering:

Our next big in-person gathering is happening on Saturday September 20th and it's open to everyone. 😄 If you’ve been thinking about visiting, this is the perfect time to visit. We will also have local residents from Planes stop by to join us. There’s nothing like meeting other people who also feel called to a more intentional way of living and start forming connection from the start.

Because we’re expecting a big group, we’d really appreciate if you could RSVP ahead of time so we can make sure there’s enough food and space for everyone including activities for your children. :) You can let us know how many people will be joining you through WhatsApp.

🔖 Reminder: price increase coming August 1st

If you’ve been looking into joining the Modern Eco Village, just a quick reminder that house prices will go up on August 1st. This means that anyone who becomes a member before that date will lock in the current house prices before they increase. So just sharing this reminder to make sure everyone has time to ask questions and explore their options before then. Last but Not Least, Quick Answers to Common Questions 💭

We’ve had a lot of new faces join us recently (welcome!) so here are a few answers to questions we’ve been getting lately:1. Are there any current job openings or volunteer opportunities at the MEV right now? 

There aren’t any official job openings in the MEV right now. We’re still in the early stages of development, and while we don’t yet have roles or work exchanges in place, those opportunities will come as the project evolves.

For now, the best way to be involved and contribute your skills is by becoming a member. And if you wish to volunteer in a particular area, we’d love to chat about that with you. That’s how we’re co-creating the village together, and it’s also how you’ll be first to hear about future opportunities as they open up down the line. 😄

2. What’s the difference between villas and townhouses?

Villas are fully detached homes and all of them come with 3 bedrooms as a standard. There are two main types: – The Standard Villa is 200 sqm on 1000 sqm of land. – The Plus Villa is 250 sqm on 1250 sqm of land, and includes an extra annex that can be used as a sunroom, office, kitchen, or anything else you wish.

Townhouses are smaller, modular-style homes starting at around ~50 sqm of indoor space with about ~50 sqm of private garden or terrace. Modular means they’re more flexible, where you can have anywhere from 1 to 6+ units depending on how many bedrooms and how much space you need. 3. What’s the difference between becoming a member and reserving a home? 

Becoming a member is the first step to getting involved with the Modern Eco Village community. This is how you secure one of the 500 spots in the village. To become a member, it requires a €10.000 membership fee which is fully refundable and also counts toward your future home.

As a member, you:

• Lock in current prices before they go up on August 1

• Have the right to reserve your dream home

• Have a rare opportunity to start your own business within the village

• Can offer your skills or ideas for the school, wellness center, food systems, and more

• Join our member-only calls, community conversations and hear exclusive updates from our team

• Help co-create the future of the MEV alongside other members

Reserving your home comes next. Once you’re a member, you’ll get priority access to reserve your dream home and location. Whether you want to live closer to the school, tucked into the forest edge, near the communal areas, or facing the lake or mountains, you’ll get to choose what suits you best. We also have step-by-step guides that walk you through this process once you’re at this stage. 😊

With that said, here’s a quick breakdown on how to become a member:

Step 1: Connect with us! Fill out the form above or book a quick call with us and tell us about what you desire for your ideal life, your home, what matters most to you. Before booking your call, please be sure to look over our website, FAQs and podcast episodes to make the most of your time. (you can find all of these options at the bottom of our website) 😊

Step 2: Once you decide to join the MEV, our team will send you a membership agreement. A membership fee of €10.000 holds your spot (the fee will be deducted from your future house price and is refundable if you decide not to live here down the road). 

Step 3: Get welcomed into the community! We'll send you a welcome packet with all the information you need to know to get acclimated. You will also get to join our community chat, come to our neighborhood calls, and schedule an onboarding call with our team to talk about your role and vision in the MEV.

Step 4: When the timing feels right, you’ll have the chance to reserve your dream home and preferred location in the MEV and officially begin the process! 🥳
