We’re Building a Village. Here’s How to Join Us!

Over the past few weeks, an incredible number of people have found their way to the Modern Eco Village, whether it was through social media, or you heard from a friend. Either way, we’re happy you found us. :) And if you’ve been with us for a while, thank you for being on this journey with us. With so many new members joining, we wanted to take a moment to share what’s happening here at the MEV. If you’re not yet a member or still exploring, this is for you.

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Cassie, part of the MEV team. I’m originally from Texas, now living in Spain. Like many of you, I first discovered this project through TikTok and felt a strong pull to be part of it because I truly believe this is one of the ways to live more simply, more connected, and more in tune with what life is really about. 🌱

What we’re creating

We’re building a village of modern ecological modular townhomes and villas, designed for long-term living, not short-term escapes. Alongside the homes, we’re creating shared spaces like gardens, food forests, coworking areas, a school, wellness facilities, and gathering places that will make daily life feel more connected and meaningful. Everything, from architecture to solar panels, water systems, and the layout of common areas, is being designed with care, sustainability, and purpose.

The result is a village that feels alive and vibrant. If you’re looking for a modern, sustainable way of life, without sacrificing comfort, this is the place.

Why we’re building this

Many of you have heard the story of the founders, Iancu and Belinda, share about why they decided to create this village. To keep the long story short, they were frustrated with the quality of life they were living, stress, isolation, food that looked good but wasn’t nourishing, etc. 

Like many of us, they started asking bigger questions. What if there’s a better way to live? One that supports mental and physical wellbeing, that reconnects us to nature and to each other, without needing to give up the beauty, comfort, or creativity of modern life.

The Modern Eco Village is our response to that search. A place to live with intention. To build real community. And to return to what matters.

How it works

The MEV is a membership-based village in the south of Spain, created not just for people, but with them. Everyone involved in this project is going to live here too- it quite literally takes a village to build one. When you become a member, you don’t just buy a home, you help shape the lifestyle, the land, and the values of this place. Through our community circles (small working groups on topics like education, sustainability, wellness and more), members have a real voice in what’s being built. 📢

Members also have the rare opportunity to start their own businesses within the village, whether that’s a small café, a wellness offering, a creative service, or something entirely new. What makes this so special is that you’re not building alone. You’ll be surrounded by a like-minded, supportive community, and starting out with a built-in customer base from day one.
