Gary G.

What country are you from?
I'm originally from Austria, but I currently live in Thailand.
What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
I love the energy and the concept of the project (sustainability, permaculture/organic food, safety, non-toxic living, etc.), spending more of my life outdoors, and also the idea of a like-minded, environmentally conscious, and mindful community.
While Thailand is also beautiful and exciting, after three years I miss my roots in Europe. That's why I plan to return, and I chose MEV because it perfectly matches my vision of a good, happy & healthy life (“blue zone”).
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
I'm both gregarious and introverted. Humor is very important to me, and I'm a very honest and reliable person. I am someone who likes to think outside the box, profound and critically. I am an open-minded person, always curious and eager to learn. Genuine, meaningful relationships are important to me. I value freedom, empathy, fairness and integrity.
Quality over quantity!
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
I am self-employed as a Therapist (specializing in orthopedics, neurology, and burnout syndrome), QiGong-Teacher, and Shiatsu-Practitioner. Therefore, I'm interested in everything related to holistic health.
To prevent illness and suffering from arising in the first place, health promotion/prevention has always been my top priority. I have therefore always encouraged my patients to take their health into their own hands independently and to equip them with the necessary information and tools to do so.
My additional training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (QiGong and Shiatsu) resulted from my strong desire to promote health and longevity.
I have diverse interests and hobbies (hiking, swimming, dancing, sports, movies, cinema, art, food, cooking/baking, traveling, languages, etc.).
By the way, my adopted dog is a Galgo Español. He was found as a puppy near Madrid and taken to a shelter. Now he's a certified therapy dog and quite the nomad…
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
Primary Therapy, Health promotion/Prevention, QiGong, Shiatsu.
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
Being active, going hiking, relaxing outdoors, good organic food, hang out with friends, laugh until it hurts, attending open-air concerts, dancing, supporting each other, growing and thriving together. We can always learn from each other…
I’m looking forward to get in touch with my future neighbors.
