What country are you from?
Norway
What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
I was drawn to the MEV because it reflects many of the values I already live by. As someone who loves gardening and creating beauty in everyday life, I’m excited by the opportunity to live in a place where ecological living is thoughtfully integrated in modern design. I also wish to live in a community with shared values, in a warm climate, where people support one another and grow together.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
I am a reflective and intuitive person with a strong commitment to truth, justice, and compassion. I value deep conversations, personal growth, and the courage to question established norms. My core values are authenticity, freedom and integrity. I believe in the power of listening, to others, to nature, and to the quiet voice within, and seek to live in alignment with what I truly believe in.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
I have been married for nearly 30 years, and together with my husband, we have raised two wonderful daughters who are now adults. Although we don’t yet have grandchildren, our family remains close, and our shared memories continue to shape who I am. I take great joy in creating a warm and beautiful environment, both indoors and outdoors. In recent years, our cabin has become my true passion, a place where I have poured my heart into renovation projects, gardening, and growing vegetables. It’s my sanctuary, where I find both peace and inspiration. Books films and series is another deep passion of mine. When the mood is right, I can finish an entire book in a single day. Reading is not just a hobby, but a way to explore new worlds and ideas. Professionally, I am a trained teacher with a master’s degree in mathematics education. I have taught both mathematics and and science for several years, and I still work in education, now in a leadership role as assistant principal at a lower secondary school. Supporting students, teachers, and the broader school community is something I find deeply meaningful. Whether through my work, family life, or personal interests, I’m guided by a love of learning, a care for people, and a desire to create something lasting and good.
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
With my background in education I see myself contributing by supporting learning, collaboration, and communication within the community. I’m passionate about building strong, inclusive environments where people feel seen and valued, whether that’s through organizing activities, mentoring, or helping to create good structures for everyday life. I love creating beautiful spaces, so I would gladly take part in hands-on projects that enhance our surroundings and promote a sustainable lifestyle. Most of all, I hope to be a caring, engaged neighbor who brings warmth, creativity, and steadiness into the shared life of the village.
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
My dream community consists of caring and loving people who look out for each other in a village where all the neighbors is a friend. A place where likeminded people can thrive and grow together both practically and personally. A place where we all create beauty in everyday life together.
