John-Helge Gantz

What country are you from?
Norway
What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
My wife introduced me to MEV, and it was the idea of true community, a place built on shared values, collaboration and purpose that drew me. The thought of belonging to something bigger, that encourages collaboration while respecting individuality, and a slower pace of life are major factors. I am curious and exited about the chance to live (again) in a multi cultural integrating society where we can create, grow and build together rather than coexist.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
Most people who meet me will probably think I'm and extrovert, thought at my core I am quite the opposite. I value Integrity, authenticity, freedom and belonging, and I'm drawn to structure, process and improvement. I believe in leading by doing, by showing consistency and reliability rather than noise and titles. I appreciate straight-forwardness and meaningful conversation over surface talk, and find satisfaction in solving challenges.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
We are a small family of three - steady, curious, and grounded. We enjoy small adventures, and simple routines that give space for both reflection and creative expression. My professional background is in technology, security and quality, but my personal passions extend to craftsmanship, building and creating tangible things. We value authenticity, integrity and connection, sharing a wish to live in a better balance with our nature.
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
To contribute where technology, structure, and community needs meet. Supporting the digital foundation of MEV - secure systems, transparent processes, and practical solutions that help the community thrive. In addition, I want to contribute as builder and problem-solver, helping translate ideas into working realities.
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
Waking up to a quiet yet alive community, enjoying a cup of coffee in the garden with dog(s) running freely around. Enjoying peace and quiet with a low pulse before my family wakes. Sharing a breakfast before we embark on today's adventures - whether planned activities or spur-of-the-moment excursions. Community bbq's and gatherings where all are welcome to participate, people look out for another, not out of obligation but genuine care and shared purpose.
