What country are you from?
We are Odd Magne and Wendy Hjortland from Norway. We have two grown-up children, a son (24) and a daughter (31).
What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
We both have for many years had a dream of building and living in a low-EMF and environmentally friendly home. When we heard about the MEV we knew instantly that we had to be part of this. We had already bought a house near Iancu and Belinda, so the idea of moving and living in Spain was already manifested. The thought of living in the MEV with a community of people around us that have similar values, a safe and comfortable place to live and eating locally produced organic food does definitely appeal to us.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
Wendy (57) was born in England but lived most of her life in Norway. She has studied self-development and spiritual practises for more than 25 years. Worked as a bio-energetic health coach and healer for almost just as long. Her wish is to continue working with this and co-create a small health shop and combined café in the MEV with others.
Odd Magne (60) is a troubleshooter, always focused on finding solutions to the challenges he meets on his way. Whether it is his own or other people’s challenges, he always seems to find ways to overcome any challenge.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
Wendy loves reading and studying metaphysical topics and learning about life’s bigger mysteries. The most important for her is a community where low EMF is prioritized as she is electro sensitive.
As the owner of the Norwegian company EMF CONSULT, Odd Magne has been working to find good and affordable shielding solutions for electro hypersensitive (EHS) persons. During his work with EHS-persons and his research on this topic he has gained extended knowledge on how to build LOW-EMF-BUILDINGS. https://emf-consult.com/
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
Wendy's wish is to continue working as a bio-energetic health coach and healer and co-create a small health shop and combined café in the MEV with others.
With Odd Magne's experience from EMF CONSULT he has together with Tommy Gjedrem started MEV TECH, a company focusing on developing and delivering sustainable Eco-friendly technical and LOW-EMF solutions for the MEV. http://mevtech.es/
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
When the village is ready and the homes and gardens are filled with happy vegetable, fruits and people Odd Magne is planning to start practicing slow-living and start a bee-farm, producing delicious local organic honey.
