What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
My wife and I have had a dream of living in a warm climate. This has been a plan for a long time. Living in a community was my upbringing, and I want to recreate this in a warm climate.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
I like to create, preferably with my hands. I look for small details in development, and I am intense on a job where someone needs my knowledge. Justice and honesty are close to my heart.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
I was born in Alta. All my life I lived with my family near the Salmon River and my grandparents' small farm. My interest has been motorsports, when I was 14 I started my motocross career, and in 1996 I also started snowmobile racing. In 2007 I ended my career as a competitor and studied to become a coach in both sports. After 20 years as a coach, I ended my contract as a coach for the Norwegian national team in snowmobile racing. Since 2013 I have been a teacher for young truck and bus drivers. I enjoy nature and fishing. Trail cycling is my favorite.
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
I want to participate in the development of sports and facilitate activities. In my job, I coordinate my department. This is a role I enjoy.
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
That the trust is so great that the door is not locked. The conversation at the fence sits loosely with a cup of coffee. The sun is shining and laughter from the lake tempts you to take a swim.
