What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
For years I have dreamed of a life abroad. A slow, pure and eco-friendly life in Spain and close to nature, was at the top of the list. The MEV fits this dream perfectly!
And living in a place where people have the same kind of mind set would be perfect.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
Me and my husband Michel live in a small village in the Netherlands. Our two big girls are almost flying out.
I am a positive person who enjoys the little and pure things in life. I am a fairly calm person who likes to do her own thing at her own time, but also looks for fun and relaxation with like-minded people.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
I love to cook! Of course with as many fresh ingredients as possible (from our vegetable garden). Walking in nature I also enjoy very much as well as spending time in the garden when the weather permits it in the Netherlands.
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
In the MEV I would really like to have a role in the vegetable gardens and also in preparing healthy, pure dishes in, for example, the soup kitchen.
As a former teacher, I could play a role in teaching children how to grow vegetables and cook healthy food.
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
My day will start slowly with coffee while enjoying the beautiful view in front of my house.
Then I work a few hours in the vegetable gardens, maybe I can harvest vegetables for the weekly communal meal.
In the afternoon I take it easy, read a book, maybe take a nice walk along the lake.
Later that day I help prepare the weekly communal meal, where I of course also join in to meet others!
