What country are you from?
I am half Norwegian (Drammen, father side) and half Spanish (Barcelona, mother side). Currently living in Norway, but have lived for many years in Germany, Spain, Italy as well.
What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
There are many reasons for my decision to want to live in the MEV. I had been looking for Eco-Communities all over the world for some time, but none of them really “fit”, till I found the MEV.
I was tired of too much work and a too cold and dark (all though beautiful) country.
It is also crucial that the houses planned at the MEV are modern, well isolated, build with as non-toxic materials as possible and with beautiful and peaceful views.
The idea of being able to grow our own food, support each other, work and live in a community of likeminded, inspiring and kind people is also a good reason for wanting to live in the MEV.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
I am a passionate, reflective, philosophical and creative being, that flourishes when there is enough “space” and freedom for finding new ideas and solutions. I like starting things, but sometimes need help to keep them moving long term. When it comes to projects, I am more of a sprinter than a marathon runner, so to speak. :)
I thrive when I feel useful and are able to help others in some way or another. I have luckily, through experience, also learned to accept help from others as well. :)
I have had many experiences in life, but I am not the same person as the one who had them. Each faze taught me new things and I am always eager to learn and develop. My basic question that I take with me on my life path is: “What can I learn from this experience?” The beauty of it is that sooner or later I do get an answer helping me moving forward.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
Many years ago, I worked in a travel agency in Oslo, then as a tour guide in Mallorca and as a model. I was later a flight attendant for Lufthansa (in the good old days when we stayed for a long time at each destination).
The last two years of my flying career, I used to prepare some documentary films (about Stonehenge and other “sacred” sites all over Europe). Then I was asked to be content responsible and host of a Norwegian TV-Show called “Møte med det ukjente” (Meeting with the unknown) for TV3 in Norway. Later I continued to do some projects for German television and worked as an international event-host/presenter all over Europe. I moved from Germany to Barcelona, Spain where I started giving seminars on public speaking (given in English, German, Norwegian and Spanish). I was in the same period asked to write a book on communication for a Spanish publisher (Como presentar para convencer, Editorial Profit, Barcelona).
In Barcelona I also gave “lectures” on Personal development and led meditation groups at “El Centro”.
I am a certified ICF-coach and a HeartMath Trainer, something I am extremely passionate about. I see myself setting up online courses and would love to teach marvelous HM-method to villagers and organize meditation groups at the course/activity center. In summer I can see a beautiful “chill-out” area down at the lake with candles etc. for the meditations.
Other than that, I can help with almost anything. I speak several languages and can help with whatever is needed in that area. Can help in a shop, in a restaurant, hotel, kindergarten...anything really...What I do not know or master, I believe I can learn. :)
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
I would also like (as Iancu wrote), help organize events and set up activities that would generate interaction and unite the community (setting up choirs, dinners, salsa dancing, sound bowl-concerts, meditations, mountain walks, exercise, etc.).
What does your dream community look like? Dream day in the MEV?
I would love to wake up early and see the sun rise, meditate, have a walk, pick some fruits and veggies, have breakfast and slowly easing into the day.
I would feel blessed to be able to savor it all in a conscious way, feeling and practicing gratitude for all the little moments. Meet others in the community and help where I can. Work on the wonderful tasks that I have chosen for myself where I can contribute for the community as well as setting up some online courses.
Work out at the gym or just a brisk walk.
Make some food for me and others with the wonderful MEV produce, or just go to one of the restaurants and enjoy a meal there. I can see so many wonderful possibilities.
