What drew you to the MEV and what excites you about living in this community?
I saw the MEV almost a year ago on TikTok and contacted Iancu and we came down to meet them and visit the site in April 2024. So my interest is that I build houses in the UK and have just completed my own eco house that is carbon negative, so it generates more power than it uses over a year. It's even connected to its own windfarm in Wales which provides power in the winter and lots of solar panels that provide power in summer. I have just gone through all the stuff that Iancu is dealing with but on a smaller scale.
What intetested me was the Eco house but with better weather!! But more and more it's also becoming trying to find cleaner food and also the sense of community that is missing in the UK.
Who are you as a person? (personality, values, etc.)
My background is a PhD in Chemistry an MBA business degree and years working as a consultant project managing large development projects initially in the pharmaceutical industry but when I retired I started building and management eco house builds. Hence my interest in MEV.
I am a trained project manager with a keen interest in green technology.
I'm also an Age Group Triathlete and represent the UK in international events. Just got back from the European and World Championships this year in France and Spain and have qualified for next year's events too.
Tell us about yourself and/or your family—your interests, hobbies, occupation, and passions.
My hobbies and passions are running, swimming and cycling training and trying to eat well.
Also love traveling and seeing new cultures.
What will be your role in the community? (e.g., sustainability projects, community gatherings, permaculture, holistic wellness, creative workshops, education, etc.)
I am the project manager of the MEV.
